Basic Slow Cooked Chili

Now chili is always a staple here, especially now that winter is in full motion and its below zero most days. This chili uses mostly canned goods, except for the ground beef and cheese. (I have tried this recipe with a can of beef but it turned to a mush that my dog wouldn't even eat.) For a bit of extra flavor, grab a bag of corn chips and either put them on the bottom of the bowl and spoon chili over that or use the chili as a dip.
Ingredients:
1 Pound All Natural 73% Lean/27% Fat Lean Ground Beef ($3.12 @Walmart)
1 15.5 oz. Can Great Value Dark Red Kidney Beans ($0.54 @Walmart)
1 15.5 oz. Can Great Value Chili Beans ($0.54 @Walmart)
1 Packet Great Value Chili Seasoning ($0.50 @Walmart)
1 Bag Great Value Finely Shredded Taco Cheese Blend ($2.38 @Walmart)
1 14.5 oz. Can Great Value Chili Ready Tomatoes ($0.72 @Walmart)
1 6 oz. Can Great Value Tomato Paste ($0.72 @Walmart)
1 15oz. Great Value Tomato Sauce ($0.72 @Walmart)
1 Bag Great Value Corn Chips ($0.72 @Walmart) (Optional )
Brown the ground beef in a skillet until fully cooked; while the ground beef is cooking you can prep the slow cooker or pot you are going to use. Drain the kidney and chili beans and add them to your slow cooker or pot. Add the full can of chili ready tomatoes; do not drain this can. Add the tomato paste and sauce in as well. When the ground beef is fully cooked, drain excess grease and discard it than and add ground beef to the slow cooker. Stir all the ingredients together inside the slow cooker until fully incorporated. You now add the chili seasoning packet right into the slow cooker and slowly stir that in as well. If you want a cheesier chili, add the cheese at this point. Cook on low for 3-5 hours or high for 1-2 hours. Serve with shredded cheese on top and enjoy.
Prices may vary depending on where you shop or live. The total comes to $9.96 plus tax. You can always omit one of the beans or the corn chips and cheese as well to make this a little cheaper. You can also buy the canned beef, but I wouldn't recommend that since it turns to mush pretty quickly and doesn't look at all appetizing and its also more expensive than buying a pound of fresh ground beef as well.
